Struggling Student With Dreams Deferred....

Please Help Me!! I'm caught in a cycle! All I've been trying to do is get back in school so that I can rebuild a credit score my parents destroyed. I owe my creditors several thousand dollars. I have been applying everywhere for over a year and I cannot find steady employment. I'm fairly young and It has really been a struggle. It has been a very depressing ride. My family cannot help me out because they are struggling with medical bills, utility, and funeral costs themselves. I want to be able to give back to my community and my family but I dont have the job I need because I dont have the education. cant receive the education I need because I dont have a job. I need help getting my transcript released and that is the first step! More help than that and I will be able to start getting out of debt. Please Help Me!!! I dont know who else to ask or what else to do...

About Recession_parents

I am a former government worker and have been unemployed for two years now. I am now a stay at home mom with a two year old son. My husband has been working two jobs for over a year now and works seventeen hour days. I have been looking for work, but now we just found out we are expecting another baby in January 2010. Due the recession, one of my husband jobs have cut employee work hours in half. This makes things more inconvenient, because now he is working from paycheck to paycheck. He now carpools and was told his transportation to work will discontinue soon. So, now we are in danger of him losing both jobs, if we can not get a vehicle. We can not come up with money to purchase a vehicle at this time or make car payments, other than car insurance. We live in HOT Alabama. Public transportation here is unreliable and walking everywhere is really horrible. Especially, now that I am pregnant it is not advised to be outside in 100 degree, 90% humidity weather. To make a long story short, it would be a huge blessing if someone out there has a vehicle in good condition they do not need and are willing to get rid of for a VERY APPRECIATIVE family. God bless.

Completely Out of Options!

In as much as I'm generally a positive person and try to stay upbeat about things in general, I'm facing some real harsh realities that some of my friends may not know about. I hate to be one of "those people," but in trying to do the right things it's hard to stay focused when dealing with certain life issues.

I'm a single dad who has my six year old son half of the time. I also have two older children who for the most part are on their own. In the last couple of years I have been through a divorce, bankruptcy, and am in the process of either losing my house to short sale or foreclosure. At the advice of my realtor, I moved out of the house several months ago and am renting another house. Then, a couple of months ago, I lost my job with AAA. I have once again fallen behind on my bills, and it's hard to maintain everything. I do my best not to completely stress out, but it's human nature to do so. While looking for another job I've taken it upon myself to be proactive and make things happen, so I've started my own advertising business with restaurant placemats. It's slow going so far, but I feel good about the future. In the meantime, however, it's "pick and choose" over which bill is most important, what needs to be paid before being cut off, keeping my car from being repossessed, etc.

My biggest issue besides the car is with the house I am currently in. I'm a couple months behind on my rent and have been told by the landlord that unless I'm caught up by December, I have to move out after the Holidays. And I just don't know where I'm going to come up with it. I'm desparately trying to make things happen, but I'm running out of time.

The total amount of money I need is very high, and I would not expect to be completely "bailed out," but if I could at least get help with either my rent, my car, or both, that would relieve me of so much pressure! I've actually approached a couple of professional organizations who have told me that there are no additional funds, and some large church organizations have told me that I wouldn't be eligible for help because I'm not one of their own. So the bottom line is that I just need some help to get me back on my feet so that I can move forward without the pressure of wondering where I'm going to live or if I am going to have a car. I'm sincerely hoping and praying that a lot of people helping a little; can accomplish this. I would deeply appreciate anything at all, and I realize that any help at all is a great help, and is a true jesture of kindness.

If you or anybody you know can help, please contact me and I will give you my contact information.

God Bless You!

Sincerely,
Richard Pieper

Hello I am a 32 yo father of 3 who was unemployed for little of a month. My wife homeschools my oldest child of 10 and works full time. With being out of work it set us back. I can not get a credit card for previous decisions that have hurt me now. If we don't have rent postmarked by the june 5th 2008 we will become eveicted and homeless. I have borrowed so much from my parents that they can't afford to help anymore. I have tried government assistance and they say I make $1000 to much which would be were I couldn't have a home. Other agencies or companies can't get us the amount we need. I am not looking for a handout all the time. I am afraid of losing my kids and do not know were to turn to. Gas is so expensive but I have to drive to work and i do not make enough to get a little car that would help me there. When things get better I want to be able to help one day and I will for when others do a good deed there is a return of some gratitude that will last forever.
